A Little Tour of What All Happens Around Here...
Come On In: A Little Tour of Where It All Happens
This morning, I stood in the doorway with my coffee—my “take a moment” mug, actually, with my own handwriting scrawled across it—and looked out at everything we’ve built here. And I thought: I’ve never actually shown you this.
I’ve told you a little about me—about learning to slow down, about finding the courage to pick up a paintbrush, about faith and flowers and the wonder hidden in ordinary days. But I haven’t shown you much about where any of that actually happens.
So today’s post looks a little different than usual: less garden walk, more glimpse into the chaos of our daily lives. Stick with me, because I promise it circles back to the same place all my posts do.
More Than One Thing Under One Roof
If you’ve followed along for a while, you know I paint. But what you might not know is that our world holds much more than an art studio and a garden. We have several small businesses and shops here, each one built the same slow, patient way paintings are: one season, one decision, one act of care at a time.
Terry started it all long before I came along. Then, one yes at a time, it became ours—until one small business became a few, and a few became this whole little world we get to live inside together.
First, a little about my sweet husband.
Terry is a mechanical engineer. He actually built our house and all the outbuildings on our property. His specialty is designing and building turnkey machines that help businesses work more efficiently. But he’s an artist, too. He loves drawing portraits and is currently working on a life-size sculpture of Bella, our Bernese Mountain Dog.
We met in 2015, and in the eleven years since, I think we’ve only spent a couple of days apart. It’s such a gift to meet the love of your life.
Together, we’ve built a beautiful marriage. Of course, there are hard days—hard days are simply part of life when you’re juggling as much as we do—but we face them together.

And now, onto what we do around here.
PC Engineering
This is our main business: a machine shop and fab shop where we design and build everything from tiny bushings to robots. Life around here is never dull!
And yet, even in the middle of all that machinery and noise, I sometimes catch myself stopping to admire the beauty of a freshly machined part. There’s artistry in precision too.

American Edge Engineering
We also manufacture ceramic saw parts for bandsaws. Earlier this year, we purchased SpaceAge Ceramics, and together with our existing saw-parts company, Jasper Parts Warehouse, we’re bringing everything under one umbrella: American Edge Engineering. (www.AmericanEdgeEngineering.com and www.JasperParts.com)
We make a variety of ceramic, stainless, and specialty components for bandsaws, and now that the ceramic shop is in-house we have guide jaws, bearings, saw blades, and more for just about every bandsaw out there.
Wine!
And as if all that weren’t enough, because we happen to live in the heart of Oregon wine country, we also own Meraviglioso Winery—meraviglioso means “wonderful” in Italian.
We farm about nine acres of vineyard in Pinot Noir heaven and pour everything from sparkling wines to Cabernet in our tasting room. There is something deeply satisfying about working with the land, about participating in a process that refuses to be rushed.
We're currently mid-never-ending-remodel in the tasting room! Whew - remodeling is not for the faint of heart! ( www.NewbergWinery.com )

Why I Wanted You to See It
The truth is, none of these places are really separate from one another. They all come from the same instinct—the same one that has me stopping in the middle of a walk because the evening light hit a dahlia just right, or writing “take a moment” on a mug in my own handwriting because I need the reminder as much as anyone.
Life is so busy, especially for women. We’re expected to know how to do everything, be everything, and somehow hold it all together. Wife. Mother. Nana. Business owner. Friend. Creator.
Ugh. I’m tired.
But I think that’s what I want this little corner of the internet to say, if it says anything at all: beauty and business and family and faith don’t have to live in separate rooms. They can share a roof. They can share a day.
And they can share a moment.
Mug in hand, I’m grateful for all of it—even the ordinary parts. Especially the ordinary parts. Because I’ve come to believe that it’s the little things that make up the best memories.
I made a video walking through the whole property, shop by shop, if you’d rather see it than simply read about it. I’m hoping to have it uploaded by Wednesday.

I’m so glad you’re here -
Take a moment with me this afternoon… pause to notice.
Welcome in,
— Becky
